In 2019, SUVs made for nearly half of vehicle sales in the United States, and the market is growing, thanks to drivers looking for something comfortable that takes them from daily errands with the family to weekend adventures1. Stocking the right SUVs at a dealership can help you keep up with growing consumer demand. Below are six options worth considering for your lot.

Top Used SUVs for Dealerships to Stock

1. Hyundai Santa Fe (2018)

Those wanting an everyday family car should consider the Hyundai Santa Fe. Comfort amenities include dual-zone climate control, optional leather, and heated seats. Basic trims also include lumbar adjustment functionality for the driver. The base trim includes a 7-inch touchscreen with satellite radio, Bluetooth, and USB connections. Upgrades are available for a larger touchscreen, sound system, and built-in navigation. The Hyundai Santa Fe also received a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)², so your customers will feel good about enjoying such a comfortable ride.

2. Chevrolet Equinox (2017)

The Chevrolet Equinox is considered a compact SUV, but it offers plenty of rear-passenger space, making it ideal for families who might be carpooling to school and extracurriculars. This used SUV is built for convenience, thanks to plenty of user-friendly tech, like remote keyless entry, hands-free phone capabilities, and a touchscreen monitor that supports smartphone interfacing and navigation.

The upgraded LT model includes blind-spot detection and rear cross-path detection, while the Premier level includes lane-departure warnings and a forward-collision alert for even safer driving. The Equinox allows for both front- and all-wheel drive courtesy of a 6-speed automatic transmission. A 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine comes standard, but an upgraded 3.6-liter, V6 engine is also available3.

The Nissan Murano provides a smooth, stable ride while getting 28 mpg highway and 20 mpg city driving. In addition to its fuel efficiency, this used SUV sports a padded leather interior that conveys comfort and quality.

Parents will appreciate the safety features, including two LATCH connectors for securing car seats, a rearview camera, driver-attention monitoring, and a pre-collision warning system. Upgraded trim levels expand on the safety offerings to include lane-departure alerts, pedestrian detection, traffic sign recognition, and surround-view parking cameras.

The Murano’s amenities include remote keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, and an optional moonroof and remote starter. It’s a great family SUV with comfortable seating for five passengers and plenty of upgrade options4.

Cargo space is slightly more limited than other vehicles in its class, but the interior is attractive and comfortable. The Sportage comes with a strong safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) due to its selection of available features starting at the EX level, including automated emergency braking, lane-departure warnings, and blind-spot monitors5.
